# Connect Gemini

> Check custom-app availability, authorize Deep Recall, and verify memory access in Gemini.

Use Gemini’s custom-app connection when your account has access to it.

Google rolls out these options by account and region. The product’s current guide covers personal Google accounts in the US; do not assume a missing menu can be enabled by installing a skill. Check [Google’s current availability guidance](https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/17209137?hl=en).

## Add the custom app

On Gemini’s website, open **Settings → Connected Apps → Add a custom app**. Some accounts place Connected Apps under **Personal Intelligence**. Paste:

```text
https://api.getdeeprecall.com/mcp
```

Choose **Next**, sign in to Deep Recall, and review permissions. Leave optional **Advanced features** credentials empty for automatic registration.

## Add memory guidance

If Gemini exposes **Skills**, [download the memory skill](https://getdeeprecall.com/skills/deep-recall/SKILL.md) and upload it through **Settings → Skills → Upload**. Google documents [skill setup and availability](https://support.google.com/gemini/answer/17094296?hl=en).

If Skills is absent, you can still explicitly ask Gemini to use its connected Deep Recall tools. A skill cannot create the custom-app connection itself.

## Verify the result

```text
Use the connected Deep Recall tools to save that I prefer quiet places for dinner.
After it is ready, find that preference through Deep Recall and show its source.
```

Check for a tool call, allow processing time, and verify the memory from a fresh conversation or [the app](https://getdeeprecall.com/app).

If Custom apps is still unavailable, use [Claude](/connect/claude/) or [ChatGPT](/connect/chatgpt/) while checking your account’s eligibility. Do not repeatedly upload the skill to try to unlock the connection.
