# Export your brain

Source: https://docs.getdeeprecall.com/use/export/

> Download a portable snapshot of memories and their structured context.

Download a snapshot you can keep independently of your AI assistants.

## Create an export

In [the app](https://getdeeprecall.com/app), choose **Export your brain** from navigation and wait for the ZIP download. Save it somewhere appropriate for the personal information it contains.

The export is a snapshot at the time it was created. Later saves and changes do not update an older download.

## What is included

| File | Contents |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| `manifest.json` | Format, export date, file list, and resource counts |
| `brain.json` | Safe profile fields, memories, entities, relationships, and memory links |
| `memories.md` | A readable rendering of the saved memories |

The format identifier is `deeper-recall-export/v1`. Original uploaded files and emails are not bundled; download originals separately from Documents. Credentials, tokens, embeddings, jobs, and internal audit history are excluded.

## What you can do with it

Read the Markdown or process the structured JSON in your own tools. Keep the original ZIP if you want the manifest alongside the content.

Export does not delete anything from Deep Recall, and import is not currently supported. It is not a live synchronized folder.

If export reports an account-size limit, contact support. The service returns an error rather than silently giving you a partial archive. See [export limits](/reference/limits/#export).
