Limits and supported formats

These bounds describe supported behavior. They do not imply that every accepted source will produce a memory.

Input Limit
MCP remember.content 100,000 trimmed characters
recall.query 2,000 characters
ask.question 4,000 characters
Recall/Ask top_k 1–50
Recall tags 50 unique values, up to 100 characters each

See the tool reference for defaults and strict field names.

Item Limit or supported formats
Original upload 10 MiB
Extracted text 100,000 characters
Text-based PDF 100 pages
Text UTF-8 .txt, .md, .markdown
Office .docx, .pptx, .xlsx
Images .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp

Scanned/image-only PDFs, encrypted PDFs, and legacy Office formats are unsupported. Text documents have no fixed extracted-memory count; content and individual-memory bounds still apply. MCP cannot upload a file.

Email extraction is selective: zero to eight memories per message. Supported non-image attachments share the parent email’s processing and source links. Images, inline logos, and signatures are excluded.

Additional allowed senders are limited to 20 exact email addresses. Brain usernames are 3–40 ASCII letters, numbers, or hyphens and start/end with a letter or number. The chosen username is permanent; reserved names cannot be claimed.

Admission or processing Bound
Original email 10 MiB
Extracted body and attachment text 100,000 characters
New accepted messages 50 per UTC day per brain
Pending email jobs 10 per brain
Supported attachment attempts 10 total, including nested messages
PDF pages across attachments 100 total

Check the received source’s status for processing failures. A skipped attachment does not imply that the original message was discarded.

A synchronous export supports up to 5,000 memories, 5,000 entities, 10,000 relationships, and 20,000 memory/entity links. An oversized export fails explicitly instead of returning a partial snapshot. Import is not supported.

Connection menus and eligibility depend on the AI provider and workspace. Hosted memory requires a connection. Local-only storage and universal connector support are not current product promises.
